Bruce Hamrick, Chairman
Walker County Commission
Walker County is an instrumentality of the State of Alabama and is governed by a five member board of commissioners. The chairman of the Commission is the chief administrative officer of the county and presides over the commission meetings. He (She) is elected county-wide. There are four board members, elected by district. Each board member has one vote on any issue coming before the Commission and the chairman has the responsibility to decide any issue upon which the commissioners are divided. The authority and powers of the County Commission are set out in Title 11 of the Code Of Alabama, 1975. |
